The family was guided to Mr. kansil's ponds for tilapia fish where located in his back yard. When they arrived, Mr & Mrs Kansil were just busy feeding the tilapia. The family had the hospitality too to taste the gouramy barbecue which just harvested in the morning.

"This is wonderful time. We could spend our holiday in the countryside of Jogja and enjoy the scenery of Kulon Progo City. Children have knowledge more about the cultivation of the freshwater fish. We are delighted to the delicious barbecue too," said Mr. Ali

Children were happy running between the ponds. They were cheering happily when seeing the running trains not far away from the farm. For children who spent their time much in a big town, a running train, which came across the green rice fields, was so interested view!

The Visitors from Surabaya (East Java) and Malinau Regency (East Borneo)

On January 23, 2010 the Tarpaulin Fish Farm had visitors from Surabaya (East Java) and Malinau Regency (East Borneo). The visitors were looking around the fish farm.

At the time of their visit to the fish farm, the ponds were in the water filling process. The water was taken from the Papah River, a narrow river about 100 meters from the fish farm. "The cultivation of the freshwater fish using the tarpaulin fish ponds is so interesting," said Ir. Helmi Darjanto MSc, who is an expert in soil engineering and groundwater.

The visitor also had the chance to see the water suction process. On that day the Tarpaulin Fish Farm has an engine generator and 2 submersible drainage pumps. It's not easy to have the water which in accordance with requirements for the fish ponds but the Tarpaulin Fish Farm keeps learning, work hard, struggle and has support from the Fisheries Department of the Kulon Progo government so the problem is overcome gradually.

"We are going to use this technology in Malinau Regency because we have the available area, including the peat lands that have the potential to be developed." explained Ir. Amir, a local government official from Malinau Regency. "In our regency, we cultivate Patin (a kind of freshwater catfish) and Tilapia fish. There are, however, only a few fish farms that cultivate catfish and gouramy," said Ir. Yahya, a consultant for the Malinau government.

The visitors also had the chance to taste the barbecue fish. "This is truly delicious barbecue fish. It doesn't have the smell of mud either," said Darjanto's wife. "We have to come back to this fish farm again one day," said Ir. Yahya. The other visitors, Ir. Helmi Darjanto and Ir. Amir, agreed.
